How to Enter for Free

VALTORIX LTD operates prize competitions, not lotteries. Under section 14 of the UK Gambling Act 2005, a competition that requires participants to demonstrate skill, judgement or knowledge — and that offers a free route of entry equivalent to the paid route — is a lawful prize competition and not a regulated lottery. This page explains the free postal route in full.

1. Your Right to a Free Entry

Every competition on valtorixcompetitions.com can be entered free of charge by post. Free entries:

  • Have exactly the same chance of winning as paid entries.
  • Are entered into the same draw, on the same date, with the same prize.
  • Require no purchase, no membership and no payment of any kind.
  • Are governed by the same Terms of Service and skill question requirement as paid entries.

2. How to Submit a Free Entry

Send a hand-written postcard or letter to:

VALTORIX LTD — Free Entry
27 Longbridge Road
Barking, Essex, IG11 8TN
United Kingdom

Your postcard or letter must clearly include all of the following, otherwise the entry is invalid:

  1. Your full name (as it appears on your Valtorix account, or — if you do not have one — your government-issued ID).
  2. Your full postal address.
  3. Your date of birth (you must be 18 or over).
  4. An email address or phone number we can use to contact you if you win.
  5. The name and reference number of the competition you wish to enter (taken from the competition page on the Site).
  6. Your answer to the skill question displayed on that competition's page (the same question paid entrants must answer).
  7. The statement: "I confirm I am 18 or over and accept the Terms of Service of valtorixcompetitions.com."
  8. Your signature.

3. Limits

  • One postcard or letter = one free entry for one competition. To enter multiple competitions, send a separate postcard for each.
  • Multiple entries within a single envelope are not accepted; only the first valid entry will count.
  • Free entries are subject to the same maximum entries per participant stated on the competition page (paid + free combined).
  • Photocopied, printed or computer-generated entries are not accepted — entries must be hand-written.

4. Deadline

Free postal entries must be received (not just posted) at the address above by 23:59 UK time on the day before the draw date stated on the competition page. We are not responsible for postal delays. Late entries are voided and not returned.

5. Cost to You

The only cost to you is the price of a stamp and a postcard or envelope. We do not refund or reimburse postage. We do not require self-addressed stamped envelopes.

6. Confirmation & Result

If your free entry is valid and arrives in time, it will be assigned a unique entry number and entered into the draw. Winners are notified by email or phone within 7 days of the draw — see §11 of our Terms of Service.

7. Why We Have a Skill Question

The skill question is a legal requirement for our competitions to qualify as prize competitions under the Gambling Act 2005 rather than as regulated lotteries. The question is the same for free and paid entrants and must be answered correctly for the entry to be valid. Wrong answers — by post or online — are not entered into the draw and (for paid entries) are refunded.

8. No Right to Acknowledgement

We do not send acknowledgement of receipt for free postal entries. Your evidence of entry is your proof of postage from Royal Mail (we recommend Signed For if certainty matters to you).

9. Data Protection

Personal data on free postal entries is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We retain free entry records for 6 years from the draw date as required by law.

10. Questions

If you have any question about the free entry route, email [email protected] or write to the address above marking your envelope "Query".
