Responsible Play

Responsible Play & Player Protection

VALTORIX LTD is committed to providing prize competitions that are fun, fair and safe. Although our competitions are not gambling under the Gambling Act 2005 (they are prize competitions requiring a qualifying skill answer and offering a free entry route), we recognise that some players may still develop unhealthy spending patterns. This page explains the protections in place and where you can get help.

1. Strict 18+ Rule

Our services are restricted to persons aged 18 or over. Date of birth is verified at registration. We will close any account found to belong to an underage person and refund any entries paid; any prizes won will be forfeited.

2. Spending Limits

You can set a monthly spending limit in your account settings. Reductions in your limit take effect immediately. Increases are subject to a 24-hour cooling-off period before they take effect. Without an active limit, our default cap is £250 per calendar month for entries paid by credit card. Debit card and account balance entries can be capped lower at your request.

3. Self-Exclusion

If you feel that participation in our competitions is no longer in your best interest, you may self-exclude:

  • Email [email protected] with the subject "Self-Exclusion".
  • Choose a duration: 6 months, 12 months, 5 years, or permanent.
  • We will close the account, block re-registration with the same identifiers (email, phone, payment method, IP/device fingerprint where lawful), and remove you from all marketing communications, within 24 hours of the request.
  • Self-exclusion cannot be reversed before the chosen period ends. After it ends, reactivation requires a 24-hour cooling-off and a positive confirmation from you.

4. Cooling-Off (Time-Out)

If you want a shorter break than self-exclusion, you can request a time-out of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Email [email protected] with subject "Time-Out". During a time-out you cannot purchase entries; the account remains otherwise active.

5. Reality Checks

Each session in your account displays the time spent on the site and the total spent in the current calendar month, visible in your account dashboard. We encourage you to review this regularly.

6. Marketing — Easy Opt-Out

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in every marketing email or in your account settings. Self-excluded players are automatically removed from all marketing.

7. Warning Signs

You may want to consider taking a break or self-excluding if any of the following apply to you:

  • You spend more than you can afford on entries.
  • You hide your participation from family or friends.
  • You feel anxious, irritable or low when you cannot enter.
  • You "chase losses" — entering more to make up for previous losses.
  • You borrow money or use credit to fund entries.
  • Family, friends or colleagues have expressed concern.

8. Where to Get Help

If gambling, including prize competitions, is causing you harm, free and confidential support is available:

  • BeGambleAwarebegambleaware.org — information and self-help.
  • National Gambling Helpline0808 8020 133 — free, 24/7, run by GamCare.
  • GamCaregamcare.org.uk — chat, forum, treatment referrals.
  • Gambangamban.com — software that blocks gambling websites and apps on all your devices.
  • GAMSTOPgamstop.co.uk — national self-exclusion scheme for licensed gambling operators (note: prize competitions are outside its formal scope, but the tools and counselling are useful).
  • Citizens Advicecitizensadvice.org.uk — debt advice and consumer rights.

9. Family & Friends

If you are concerned about someone else, the same services above offer guidance and support for family members. You can also email us at [email protected] with subject "Third-Party Concern" — while data protection limits what we can share, we will review the account against our risk indicators and take appropriate action.
